Devil May Cry is everything that an over-the-top action game is meant to be. It has the intense and fast-paced action that keeps you wanting more. Characters that are entirely insane, but yet entirely gripping. A plot that is both non-sensical yet entirely believable in some aspects. And it’s all woven together via a graphics system that makes it a delight to watch. But after Devil May Cry 4, the series has been on somewhat of a hiatus, with no one knowing where it’ll go next. Except for China that is.
How so? Well, according to MMOCulture, a small developer in China called Yumchang Games has received the rights from Capcom to make a Devil May Cry mobile title called “Pinnacle of Combat”. It’ll be an action RPG with the focus being on the combat of the series (as if the title didn’t give that away), but, there are also a few twists that’ll be in this one.
For example, Pinnacle Of Combat will feature online modes, as well as the ability to do PVP battles against other players. Or, you can team up with other players and do team battles. This proves that there are going to be multiple characters in the game from the previous entries. This is proven by the images above, which are in-development screenshots of the game. The top-left and bottom-right shots reveal main characters Dante and Vergil. And it goes to reason that other characters should arrive as well.
To be fair, this honestly isn’t the game DMC fans were hoping for, or expecting. And since it’s only coming to China at present, many will be left out. There were rumors for some time that Devil May Cry 5 would be revealed before the end of the year. Yet, with only a few days left in the year, that doesn’t seem to be happening.
