Bandai Namco has revealed today the release of new assets for Code Vein, the upcoming action-adventure title. These new assets reveal a new character called Nicola, as well as new features such as Ivy Blood Veil and Blood Code, plus a new location known as the Ridge of Frozen Souls, and even the opening animation courtesy of Ufotable.
The description states that Mia’s little brother Nicola Karnstein is left wandering in Vein land along with his sister, where they will protect each other in the different areas. The Ridge of Frozen Souls brings an intimidating mountain pass which boasts limited visibility, narrow ledges, deep snow and even an ice-coated cave. Players will be tasked with facing a huge armored enemy in the depths of the Ridge of Frozen Souls, with the imposing figure being rather oddly fast and will therefore combine its speed and heaviness to take you down.
In order for players to survive in the Vein, they will need to utilize special attacks as much as possible. Blood Veils also allow for powerful blood drain attacks that will quickly take down enemies, as well as regaining Ichor, which will be required to perform additional skills. As for the new Ivy Blood Veil, this will unleash a swift attack, producing thorns that are capable of piercing enemies from great distances. Other Blood Veils that have been announced include Hounds, Ogre and Stinger, each with their own powers and range.
Code Vein is due out in 2018.
To survive in the Vein, players must maximize their use of special attacks.
each offer unique abilities and varying attack ranges, giving players a variety of options to suit different combat situations.
