Destiny 2 is certainly riding the crest of a wave at the minute, having surpassed the previous game’s launch stats recently, which previously set the record of the best console launch game in history. Another accolade has now been achieved, surpassing 1.3 concurrent players, having hit 1.2 million last week.
Bungie stated: To date, the high watermark for the total number of players online at the same moment, battling aliens and making the world safe, is over 1.3 Million. That blows our minds. You honor us with your hunger for action – and loot.
What is most impressive about this is that Destiny 2 hasn’t even released on PC yet, and given the colossal size of the PC playerbase, this is going to take it far beyond 1.3 million when it finally lands next month.
On the PlayStation Store, Destiny 2 boasted the largest ever day one sales ever, and it doesn’t look like it will be slowing down anytime soon.
Destiny 2 is now available on PS4 and Xbox One. For the first time ever, a Destiny game will be making its way to the PC platform, which will be available in October. There’s no telling what the game could achieve when it has fully released on all platforms, but it’ll certainly be interesting to see.
