Sometimes, you just have to ask if people ever learn from their mistakes. Because in the case of Bungie, you REALLY have to wonder if they learn. From the moment that Destiny 2 was tried out in beta, players had concerns. Sure, some of the issues could be fixed once the beta was done, but some felt that the things they saw wouldn’t change. Sure enough, when the game launched on console in September and PC in October, the game was plagued with questions design choices and gameplay mechanics that took the fun of the game away from players.
Then, with the game’s first DLC, Curse of Osiris, the content of the DLC actually locked out some of the main content that game offered to everyone. And now, a new event that has been brought to Destiny 2 has its own controversy: loot boxes. The Dawning is the winter event that debuted in the original game. Like most events, there are a lot of pieces of gear to get. But, it’s only available during this event, and you have to get Bright Ingrams to try and get them. The problem? There’s only a few ways to get them, and buying them is the only way to get the most.
And finally, I know we say it a lot, but we hear your feedback on Eververse. We both want our players to feel respected, and to deliver great content regularly to our community. Expect lots of discussion with the dev team and an update on our path forward after the new year.

For while the event is on for three weeks, you can only get 3 loot boxes a week via normal non-paying means. To get more, you have to pony up money, and players are furious about it. Bungie responded to these issues and promises a fix…in the new year.
The problem is that players don’t want to wait until the new year, they want the fix in now, and it’s not hard to sympathize with them given all they’ve gone through.
