A recent post on Reddit has suggested that a new Destiny 2 expansion is coming, entitled God of Mars. This second add-on was leaked recently via both Japanese and US PlayStation Stores, though they have since been removed.
There had been no confirmation from Bungie at the time, leading many to conclude it was nothing more than a rumor. As expected, this leak has now been deemed to be fake, with multiple reports pointing out that there are faults within the image.
Check out the image below for more information on the leak, including its description:
The leak claimed that new features would be available through God of Mars, including a new campaign, co-op modes, new weapons and gear, as well as new Crucible arenas to check out. This didn’t really help the weight that the rumor held, given that this is typically what a Destiny expansion entails.
The nail in the coffin for the rumor was found in the Japanese leak, in which the PlayStation Store screenshot contains neither proper Japanese spelling, as well as incorrect spelling to go with it.
Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, just don’t get your hopes up about a new expansion just yet.
