Destiny 2 DLC Puts Endgame Content In Lock
Since launch, Destiny 2 has been a very controversial game. Players were once very hyped for the sequel to the beloved Destiny, but once inside, they found many things that frustrated them. Endgame content was few and far between, the loot system was both aggravating and pointless (especially when compared to the system of the original game), and many of the things that made the original Destiny great were gone from the sequel. Bungie recently gave a statement saying that they were going to work hard to make the game something fans would want to play for years. But…
…that apparently didn’t apply to the DLC that just came out for Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris. For certain decisions made within this DLC have once again incited the fanbase against Bungie. Let’s break it down for you. Like a good DLC, Curse of Osiris has brought much new content to the game. However, one thing it brings is a rise to the power cap, from 300 to 330. Again, kind of standard. BUT, it also adds new endgame strikes and raids, which can ONLY be played by those who are within levels 301-330. AKA, players who have the expansion.
That’s not all though, Curse of Osiris also bring a blast from the past via the heroic playlist from the original game, and while any level player can use is, they have to have the DLC to access it.
Naturally, the fanbase is not happy, they’ve been complaining for some time about the game not being a challenge, and not having a lot of endgame content to do, and now, the only way to get the challenge and the new content is to purchase a DLC that they may not have wanted.
No doubt the next few days will be very interesting for Bungie, and we look forward to seeing what they do next.
