Death Stranding Almost Done?
When Hideo Kojima was fired from Konami, it was a big deal for multiple reasons. One, we knew that it was because of Konami that he got fired, not Kojima himself (and this was confirmed). Two, we knew that this would heavily affect the Metal Gear franchise (which Kojima noted he was done with, but you never know what could’ve been) and we were right. But, he made the most of the situation, and started his own studio, and soon after revealed his debut title, Death Stranding.
Now, ever since then, gamers have been trying to understand what the heck Death Stranding is. But with little success. Every time we get a clue as to what the game might be, Kojima throws out a new trailer that puts a twist on things and leaves us curious all over again.
But, our perplexity might be nearly over, for a Japanese magazine is suggesting that the game is almost finished in regards to development.
According to this magazine, the game has already had its gameplay rooted, so much so that it was finished last year! So, what have they been working on? Likely the cutscenes, which as you have seen from the trailers is very top quality. A recent interview with star Norman Reedus revealed that he and co-star Troy Baker finished up their voice acting recently, which would seem to be another indication of how far along they are.
Should this be the case, it appears as though Death Stranding could be releasing in 2019. Given that The Game Awards are happening on December 6th, and Kojima is good friends with the host of the show, Geoff Keighley, it goes to reason that the game could be featured there.
But as in all things, we’ll just have to wait and see. For nothing is certain with Kojima.
