London-based trio Daughter has today released an original music score for Life is Strange: Before the Storm. The award-winning group have provided the soundtrack entitled Music from Before the Storm for Square Enix’s highly anticipated new release. This marks Daughter’s first experience working on an OST, which was put together in London earlier this year.
Serving as a prequel to Life is Strange, Before the Storm presents the next entry in the massively successful narrative driven game, which released back in 2015. The BAFTA award-winning title brought real life problems to the table, making it a groundbreaking release that faced issues that saw players having to make difficult decisions surrounding bullying, suicide, teen pregnancy, as well as the importance of love and friendship.
The music played a key role in the first game in terms of what made it so special, and Daughter’s contribution to this next entry continues that tradition. Earlier this month, Daughter released the single Burn it Down, which saw a whole new audience attracted to the band through their bond with the game. This soundtrack drummed up plentiful excitement, as they showcased their connection with the game’s lead characters in what is a truly unique experience for many.
