Dark Souls: Remastered On Switch Being Handled By Veteran Team
Dark Souls is one of the most challenging, yet beloved, gaming franchises ever. Over the course of three massive game, players have fought, died, lived again, fought, died, died, died, died, fought, won, and so on and so forth in the journey to find out what truly is going on in the world they live in. From Software made epic boss fights, found interesting ways for the community to interact with one another, and so much more. And now, Dark Souls: Remastered is coming, and promises to be a great update of the original game.
But, in what was the greatest twist of its announcement, Dark Souls: Remastered is going to be coming to the Nintendo Switch, which is the very first time a Dark Souls title has been on a Nintendo platform. Needless to say, many Nintendo fanboys and fangirls are excited. But the question now is, “who’s making it?”
Well, Bandai Namco has officially revealed that China-based studio Virtuos would be heading up the project. This is a very good move, as Virtuos has had past experience with porting games to the Nintendo Switch. In fact, Rockstar Games tapped them with bringing L.A. Noire to the system last year, and the results were very positive. So, to have them on Dark Souls: Remastered will likely make many more people confident in the port that is coming.
It also goes without saying that they’re working with From Software on this to ensure the quality of the port, but you’d expect nothing less.
Nintendo scored a huge win by getting this remaster on their new system, and should it go well, there could be a chance for not only more Dark Souls titles, but also, more game from From Software, and that would be a massive with for the Nintendo Switch.
