The more we hear about CD Projekt Red’s upcoming sci-fi first-person RPG, the more we think we’re going to love it. Well, they already proved themselves to be capable of making absolutely stellar games, so they won’t disappoint us. Now, we have some more information about Cyberpunk 2077, and that is that we will be able to steal and drive cars in the game, which is an absolutely amazing fact, and one that we expected to hear in all honesty. We “almost” even got the release date revealed on the Reddit post, but of course, they didn’t give it to us, because even they themselves probably don’t know when the game will be ready for launch.
Considering that this is an open-world RPG, and we imagine that it is going to be a really big world, we need some form of transportation. Fast traveling in Skyrim really killed the immersion of the game, and you can’t have that in an RPG that wants you to feel like you’re inside the world that your character is in. That’s why CD Projekt Red added car theft to Cyberpunk 2077, which they confirmed in a Reddit post. This is also the only way outside of cutscenes where you can experience the game from a third-person perspective. It’s nice of them to even add the option to switch to third-person when you’re driving a car, as not everyone wants a first-person view inside of a vehicle.
