Cyberpunk 2077 Isn’t Launching With Multiplayer

Does this actually surprise anyone? The people over at CD Projekt Red want to give us a stellar single player experience, so it shouldn’t be all that strange that they are solely focusing on that aspect, and not including multiplayer elements. As we all know, the Witcher games also didn’t include multiplayer elements, but they were absolutely terrific single player RPGs with gripping stories, excellent characters, an immersive world, and so on. Cyberpunk 2077 is definitely also going to impress us, and it is most definitely going to be an amazing game, but if you were expecting a multiplayer mode or something like that at launch, well, you’re going to be disappointed.

Cyberpunk 2077

We found this in an article by Eurogamer where they talked with the quest designer, Patrick Mills. This isn’t really strange, but maybe we are going to get something akin to a multiplayer mode post-launch, but nothing was confirmed. We don’t actually know much about the game except for stuff that other people reported that got to see the gameplay demo, which wasn’t shown to a lot of people. It seems like CD Projekt Red still isn’t ready to show Cyberpunk 2077 to the entire world, but that’s totally fine with us, we can wait.

When they were asked if we would actually get multiplayer post-launch, they said:

Maybe, no promises. Nothing at launch. At launch we’re concentrating on the single-player game. That’s what we want to give you.”

A great RPG doesn’t need a multiplayer mode or anything like that, but if we do get it, we certainly won’t complain.
