Curse of Osiris Locks Destiny 2 Players Out of Previously Playable Content

You may remember back when The Dark Below DLC was released for Destiny, in which Bungie locked players out of certain content. It seems that they have done so once more with Destiny 2, as players are locked out of certain activities if they hadn’t purchased Curse of Osiris, even though they had access before.

The expansion was released earlier this week, which increased the level and power caps, which in turn prevented players who didn’t have the level requirements from accessing select modes. Therefore, they were effectively being kicked out of content they could play prior to release.

A number of areas have been affected as a result of this. For example, Prestige Nightfall’s cap requirement has been increased to a point that cannot be reached by those who don’t own the DLC. This also goes for the Prestige version of the Leviathan Raid, which now stops players from obtaining the achievement/trophy for completing either.

Not only that, but one of the three Meditations from Ikora this week comes from Curse of Osiris, so if you don’t own the DLC, you won’t be able to participate. This could also affect Nightfall in the future if an Osiris Strike was to be introduced.
