The 2D action RPG that’s been stuck in Early Access for 2 years now finally got a release date. If you take a peep at the game’s user ratings on Steam you can see that it is a highly rated title, and it is one of the better 2D RPGs that we’ve had the chance of playing over the last 10 or so years.
Being stuck in Early Access for over 2 years must have been hard for Radical Fish Games, the team behind CrossCode. But, all of their work was not in vain, as players praised the title quite a lot even in its Early Access phase. That just serves as a piece of evidence that not all Early Access titles are there to take your money and leave you with an unfinished product.
This is a game that combines a fast-paced combat system, 16-bit graphics, challenging puzzles, and an actually interesting sci-fi story. If you think that this isn’t an absolutely amazing combination, we advise you to check the game’s overwhelmingly positive user reviews on its Steam page. But, of course, everyone won’t like a title like this, but it has a free Steam demo out right now, so you can go and give it a chance.
Now, when is the game getting officially released? Don’t worry, the release date is close, and we can expect to play CrossCode in September 2018, we just don’t know when exactly. The developers also said that there’s an even bigger announcement coming at the start of August, and we’re eager to find out what that announcement is.
