The semi-sequel to Black Desert Online, Crimson Desert, just got delayed with no new release date at the moment.
Crimson Desert is a strange one. First planned as a Black Desert Online prequel, now it’s a completely standalone title. An action-adventure open-world game with a single-player campaign and the option of playing with the others. Also, Crimson Desert’s biggest selling point is its jaw-droppingly stunning visual fidelity.
But, as it happens so often these days, Crimson Desert got delayed. Nothing strange, as most devs still work remotely. Making something as grand as an open-world game definitely isn’t easy. In order to bring an exhilarating and engaging experience without overworking its staff, the Crimson Desert team pushes back its initial release date of 2021 :

So, when’s the game coming? As of right now, we don’t know. They haven’t announced a new release date, but we should get an update sometime soon.
What do you think of Crimson Desert? It sounds like it’s taking the path of Genshin Impact. A single-player open-world with optional multiplayer that aims to stay relevant for a long while with constant updates.
Will this succeed? What do you think? Let me know what you think in the comments down below!
