After three years of being available, the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility feature has finally introduced Crackdown, with the third entry set for release later this year. Why it has taken so long remains to be seen, though it does seem like it was worth the wait, seeing as it’s enhanced for Xbox One X.
Though the majority of the games on Backwards Compatibility tend to play as they did on the Xbox 360, some have had the luxury of being upgraded for the Xbox One X, which offers enhanced resolution and pixel count. Titles that are also falling under this category are adding The Witcher 2, Fable Anniversary, and Forza Horizon, as well as includes Assassin’s Creed, Fallout 3, Gears of War 3, Halo 3, Mirror’s Edge, Oblivion, and Skate 3.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has also introduced a set of new graphics options that have been enhanced for Xbox 360 games. You now have the options to turn off the visuals for Xbox One X so that the performance is optimized. To do this, you can follow these steps:
- Press “View” and “Menu” buttons on the controller to pull up the Xbox 360 guide
- Navigate to “Settings” blade
- Select “Xbox One X Settings”
- Select to optimize for “Graphics” or “Performance”
Crackdown 3 will release on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC later this year.
