Could South Park: The Stick Of Truth Get A Physical Release On Xbox One and PS4?
It’s hilarious to think about what games are hits and what games aren’t. There are certain video games that should never work, yet the team put everything they have into them and they somehow become one of the biggest things ever. One of these stories is without a doubt South Park: The Stick Of Truth. The game launched in 2014, and became one of the most-praised RPGs of all time, as well as sold millions of copies. Needless to say, it was a hit in every way possible.
There’s a lot of reasons as to why. First, unlike previous South Park games, the creators of the show itself, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, personally headed up the writing and design teams. This made sure that the game wasn’t just “a South Park title”, it WAS South Park. Plus, the game had incredibly deep RPG mechanics, a very deep (and funny) story, and even allowed you to walk through the world of South Park, something that had never been done before, even in the show!
So, why are we bringing this up now? Well, there’s a rumor going around that South Park: The Stick Of Truth could be getting a physical release on the Xbox One and PS4. For a Twitter post (made from a somewhat reliable source) noted that a listing has been made for the PS4. If this is true, we expect the game to also release on the Xbox One.
A big reason why this could happen is that the game was bundled with the sequel, The Fractured But Whole, in certain collections, so it’s technically already on the Xbox One and PS4. Whether this does go full stop will remain a mystery for a while, however, given the games popularity, and the success of the sequel, it’s very much a possibility.
