Could A Nintendo Direct Arrive Before The Month’s End?
Nintendo has been a hot topic for over a month now, ever since their digital press conference at E3 2018. For on one hand, people are excited for the arrival of Super Smash Bros Ultimate, but on the other hand, many feel Nintendo didn’t do enough during their E3, and they want more info on what’s coming, both in terms of the Nintendo Switch, the 3DS, and the mobile market. And now, rumors are swirling that there could be an answer to these wishes via a Nintendo Direct.
Now, as this is just a rumor, it should be taken with a grain of salt, especially when you read what is said to be “revealed” during this Nintendo Direct. However, the idea of a Direct coming, and coming soon, isn’t so far-fetched. Especially since Nintendo has been teasing more announcements and reveals for the rest of the year, including things we don’t know about yet.
The rumored date of this Direct is July 22nd, which would be a Sunday, that’s likely something that proves this isn’t accurate, for Nintendo doesn’t do Directs on Sundays. However, even if we just take it that it’ll be arriving that week, it would line up with certain other things.
For example, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime has noted that they might be revealing something at San Diego Comic-Con, which ends on the 22nd. So it could be that they do a Direct then, or, the day after.
Another thing to consider is that Nintendo has been promising updates for both its 3DS and mobile lineup of titles, especially since they didn’t do any reveals for them during E3. And given that it’s been a month now since E3 2018 for them, a Direct coming soon would help keep the momentum going as they lead towards the back half of their year.
