Conan Exiles: A Look At The Armor and Perk Changes
The developers of Conan Exiles are back from San Francisco’s GDC, and now they are ready to give us more info on armor and perk changes. Changes are being made to the light armor, which is getting nerfed, heavy armor is staying the same, while the game’s perks are either being moved around, switched out, or nerfed.
So, what happened to Light armor? Well, since it allows you to dodge around quite effectively, it will now offer much less damage reduction, but the i-frames and range of dodge have been increased to compensate for the nerf. Heavy armor wasn’t changed at all, but since Light armor was nerfed that indirectly made Heavy armor a bit better. You still won’t want to choose Heavy armor if you want to dodge a lot since it’s much less effective at that than the Light armor.
What happened with the perks? Some were moved around a bit, some were nerfed, for example, the level 5 Vitality Perk that reduced damage by 20%. When you combine this perk with Heavy armor, you would literally become a walking tank that could take a lot of damage without even flinching. That’s why the Vitality Perk now provides 10% damage reduction.
Cats, bears, locusts, and boars got some new attacks to make them a bit more ferocious in combat, and NPCs in combat overall are getting worked on so they can be a bit more challenging in battles.
