The Overwatch Summer Games are fast approaching, with the highlight being the return of Lucioball, which will be available in both competitive and unranked modes. Blizzard has announced that there will be a competitive-specific playlist for those who want to prove their skills in the event to the world. In a similar nature to other seasonal events, Lucioball is more light-hearted compared to the usual base game, though it now has that competitive touch to make it a bit more of a serious deal for players who choose to indulge.
Blizzard has confirmed that points can be earned in the competitive version, after confirming it on Twitter recently. Matches are shorter, so don’t expect to have a massive amount of points coming your way, but its still worth it if you enjoy this particular mode.
Lucioball is a key aspect to the Summer Games event, which made its first appearance back in Summer 2016. That’s not all that’s coming back either, as fans who might have missed out last year can get their hands on last year’s skins at a lower price than before, as well as a whole new bunch of skins for 2017.
The Summer Games get underway on August 9th. Overwatch is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
