Civilization VI: Rise And Fall Gets More Details
Civilization is known for its detailed gameplay, many ways to play and win, as well its detailed take on history. But, what it’s also known for, is its expansion. For while some companies go very light on expanding their game, the team behind Civilization want to make sure that every expansion feels like a necessary part of the main title. And that thought has carried through to Civilization VI, as the first expansion for the game is set to release next month in the form of Rise and Fall.
A new video has released for the expansion, and it goes heavy into the details that make this expansion so special.
As the video notes, all your decisions will have consequences. This includes facing repercussions for decisions you have made in a previous era. Do well? And you’ll enter the Golden Age. Fail to keep up and stay relevant, and a Dark Age will greet you. How everything falls out depends on you. As at the end of every Era, a choice will be put upon you via a “dedication”, in which you’ll make a choice to decide the path of your nation.
Rise and Fall also places emphasis on the people within your cities, as you’ll need to earn and keep their loyalty in order to keep the city within your empire. Fail to do so, and they may declare independence. A way you can keep and earn their loyalty is through governors, special characters with special abilities that can enhance cities in many ways. However, they aren’t easily unlocked, so you will have to earn your way to get them.
Add to that, there are new enhancements to diplomatic relationships, new in-game “emergencies” that can happen at any time, new leaders and civilizations to become, and more.
Civilization VI: Rise and Fall will arrive on February 8th.
