Do you like whips? Do you like whips that have various magical abilities and can also be used to swing around the place? Of course, you do, as everyone likes whips, and that’s one of the main appeals of a game that was made by former Bioshock developers, and it is called City of Brass. The title was in Early Access for one year, and it has now fully launched, with the latest update that added the final boss. Down below there’s the game’s launch trailer, which you can check out if you want to see how City of Brass plays and what it looks like.
In City of Brass, you enter a big metropolis that is procedurally-generated, and once you’re in, you get to do all kinds of things. You look for treasure, whip enemies with your magical whip, set up traps, and so on. The 1.0 update added the final piece of the puzzle, and that is the final boss fight.
Now, did we already mention that you own a magical whip? It isn’t just used as a means of transportation, as you could see in the trailer, it can also be upgraded to freeze and burn enemies. The gameplay doesn’t seem to be too fast-paced, which is strange considering how the game is supposed to play, but maybe that’s just how it looks like in the trailer. Overall, it looks like a really cool title, and the combination of rogue-lite and first person is not something that you can see often.
