A global investor rights law firm is filing a class-action suit against CD Projekt S.A. for false and misleading information about Cyberpunk 2077.
Rosen Law Firm is a global investor right law firm. They represent people that bought securities of CD Projekt S.A. between January 16, 2020, and December 17, 2020. So, why is CD Projekt being sued? Because of the horrible launch, but to be more precise it’s mostly because of the last-gen performance. As we all know, CDPR said Cyberpunk 2077 runs amazingly well on PS4 and Xbox One. However, we know now that those claims are completely false. That makes the investors mad, as they were promised something impossible, and it’s not smart to lie to your investors.
The official statement why they’re getting sued is:
According to the lawsuit, defendants throughout the Class Period made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that: (1) Cyberpunk 2077 was virtually unplayable on the current-generation Xbox or Playstation systems due to an enormous number of bugs; (2) as a result, Sony would remove Cyberpunk 2077 from the Playstation store, and Sony, Microsoft and CD Projekt would be forced to offer full refunds for the game; (3) consequently, CD Projekt would suffer reputational and pecuniary harm; and (4) as a result, defendants’ statements about its business, operations, and prospects, were materially false and misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis at all relevant times. When the true details entered the market, the lawsuit claims that investors suffered damages.
Even if CD Projekt is being sued, their release is popping off. Cyberpunk 2077 sold a lot, and it made a ludicrous amount of cash just with its pre-orders. However, with more and more controversies appearing each day, it makes you question things. Was CDPR ever that great? Or were they just riding the success wave of The Witcher 3?
