The Overwatch League is set to kick off next week, and if you can’t wait until then, there’s an unofficial Overwatch Fantasy League that you can join. The fantasy league will included weekly prizes, as well as drafts that fans can create to earn yourself points each week.
Overwatch is looking to establish itself on the eSports scene with the implementation of the League, and a fantasy league is a great way to do this, working in a similar vein to how other major spectator sports work such as Football and Basketball. This isn’t the first time in which the idea of a fantasy league has come up before, with League commissioner Nate Nanzer expressing interest, though money wouldn’t be involved in it.
The fantasy league works by selecting 10 players from the Overwatch League teams within your roster. In the roster, you must abide by the rules in which you can only select up to four players from the same team, which must include two supports, two offenses and two tanks.
Each week of the League, you can choose six starting players for the week, with the other four on the bench. Your score will be tallied up by how your players perform that week, though players on the bench won’t earn any points. You can join up to the fantasy league here.
Overwatch is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
