Call of Duty: WWII Receives A Huge Update
A lot of the previous Call of Duty games experimented with a futuristic setting, but fans of the franchise didn’t exactly like that very much, so then all of a sudden we got a Call of Duty game set in the second World War. This was a pleasant surprise, and the title was actually quite enjoyable. There were some complaints, most notably to the game’s divisions system, which fans weren’t fond of.
Thankfully, Sledgehammer Games are one of those developers that listen to their fans, and as you can see by the title of the video above, they overhauled the Divisions system. It will encourage the players to experiment more, which is important for a shooter that focuses on its multiplayer segment a lot. A strange change was made to sprint, which was previously limited in order to make the game more realistic as a WWII shooter. Some players welcomed this, others didn’t, so they now made it so that you can sprint forever without getting tired. The principal multiplayer designer at Sledgehammer, Greg Reisdorf, said:
“Limited sprint was selected because it was a key aspect of traditional boots on the ground Call of Duty and we felt it better fit the historical setting of this game,”
He then added:
“However, the restrictiveness of limited sprint doesn’t really benefit gameplay. So unlimited sprint is now standard across all divisions.”
A lot more changes came with this update, and the game also got its second expansion called The War Machine, which introduces a new War Mode mission that adds a new gameplay mechanic (aerial dogfighting) and there’s a new chapter of Nazi Zombies for those of you that like slaughtering the undead.
