Call of Duty Modern Warfare Won’t Have A Season Pass
Call of Duty Modern Warfare will focus more on delivering free maps and content to players without a Season Pass.
Quite strange for a Call of Duty game of all things to not feature a Season Pass. We’re as surprised by this fact as you are. In this day and age, the Season Pass is a way for developers to let their players earn more cosmetics or even content by playing the game, while they earn some extra cash. You also need to buy the pass first, but that is standard practice.
PC Gamer reported this, as they got a fact sheet from Infinity Ward that tells them about certain features of this upcoming Modern Warfare reimagining. No Season Pass means that instead, we will be getting all kinds of free maps and content. In what way, we don’t know yet, but this is a breath of fresh air for the CoD games, especially when you consider the fiasco that Black Ops 4 went through.
In their statements that were sent to PC Gamer it says:
“With the launch of Modern Warfare, the team is taking steps to unite the community. First, the team plans for Modern Warfare to be played together across PC and console through cross-play support,”
“Also, the team is eliminating the traditional season pass, so that they can deliver more free maps and content as well as post-launch events to all players.”
So we’re also getting cross-play, as well as co-op missions. Everyone is quite excited to see some of their favorite special ops soldiers, and we’re just hoping that they nail the single-player story for once. It’s been quite a while since we had a CoD game with a solid narrative.
