Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will not have zombies to respect the theme
For years, zombie mode has been one of the most popular and characteristic attractions of the Call of Duty series, but we will not find it in this year’s installment, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
According to PlayStation Lifestyle, Jacob Minkoff, director of gameplay at Infinity Ward, the studio wants to keep its feet on the ground and bet on a credible and cohesive setting in all game modes. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have another cooperative experience that will be revealed later.
“We’re not ready to talk about cooperative play yet, but what I will tell you is that the single-player storyline goes directly into the co-op storyline. No stop. The events just continue. So those elements—gameplay, progression, story—they just continue throughout everything that we have on the disc or digital download.”
This leaves the odd question in the air. Can we see the whole story without going through the cooperative mode? Will we still have bots on our side to play without friends? We will most likely find the answer soon, at this year’s E3.
