Call Of Duty: WWII Gets Ranked Play Today
For certain online games, the greatest thrill is going up against other players from across the world and finding out that you are better than them. Beating them in combat, either alone or in a team, and showing that your skills are better than there’s. Several games even have massive singleplayer modes and massive multiplayer modes to let you do just that. This includes the Call of Duty franchise, which has fully embraced the online competition route in the last few years. And that’s about to continue with Call of Duty: WWII.
For while the game has had online multiplayer already, the competition was a bit basic, but now, it’s going to get more real via Ranked Play. The mode will be live Xbox On and PS4 in just a few hours and will kick things off with a “placement season” to see how things go, as well as determine early rankings for the players.
In Ranked Play, you’ll be in 4v4 matches, and you’ll compete in a variety of tasks and maps depending on the game mode. Modes you can expect are Search & Destroy, Capture The Flag and Hardpoint. Obviously, you want to win the matches, for if you do you’ll earn points that’ll allow you to grow and earn a higher rank. Which is what you want.
But, you can also expect the other side of the equation to be true as well. Meaning, if you lose a match, or you try and escape the match before it’s over, you will lose points.
You’ll want to do the best you can in this first season, for how well you do will determine where you are placed when Season 02 arrives. Which is important, because, with seven tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Masters and Pro), you’ll definitely want to start off on the right foot.
