It’s always interesting when a beloved franchise takes a turn and goes into a completely different direction.A great example of this happened late last year with the Portal franchise. The games by Valve are easily some of the most beloved games they ever did, and have earned countless awards for their unique gameplay and level design. Fans have been waiting forever for Portal 3, but instead, last year, they got Bridge Constructor Portal. Turns out though this wasn’t that bad of a thing.
For you see, this unique fusion of the Portal world with the gameplay Bridge Constructor wowed a lot of fans on PC. It was deep, and challenging, and very special. Well, soon, if you wanted to get the game on console, you’ll get your chance. For on February 28th, Bridge Constructor Portal will come to the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The next day, March 1st, will see its release on PS4.
If you’re curious about the title and want to know more, we got the lowdown for you. The game places you in the fictional world of Portal. More accurately, it puts you in the Aperture Science Test Lab. Sounds simple, right? But, it’s not. You see, you have to do certain things to make sure your bridge can hold weight. What’s more, since this is the Portal world, there are a ton of obstacles for you to overcome. Large gaps, acid, lasers, and yes, even portals. You’ll have to be crafty and think as both an engineer and a puzzle solver to make it work.
Oh, and did we mention that GLaDOS is your guide through all this? Because she is. Bridge Constructor Portal is available now on Steam if you don’t want to wait for consoles.
