If you’re a really big fan of Blizzard and Hearthstone, World of Warcraft, and Diablo, we have some great news.
Blizzard has released books like these before. They mostly showcase art and how it came to be, and we are also getting a pop-up book this time! This is a great year for Blizzard fans, even though there might not be as many this year, thanks to some pretty shady moves by the once beloved game developer and publisher.
However, that won’t stop us from buying some pretty awesome books that showcase how art of certain games got created and the thought process behind it. This company still has a lot of talent, and we like seeing what goes through their head when they create the art for our favorite games.
The second volume of The Art of Hearthstone is coming, and it is focusing on the very first year of the standard format. This means we’re getting 144 pages that will showcase illustrations from Whispers of the Old Gods, One Nigth in Karazhan, and Mean Streets of Gadgetzan.
For the first time ever we will also be getting The Art of Diablo book, which will showcase all the ideas that the Diablo team put into the creation of the spectacular Diablo universe. See their ideas, concepts, environmental art, design, and much more, and how it all changed over the course of three games.
Lastly, Blizzard will release The Cinematic Art of World of Warcraft and the World of Warcraft Pop-Up Book. The first one goes behind the scenes of the always spectacular cinematics that follw each new WoW chapter. The pop-up book is just that, a pop-up book with WoW characters, iconic locations, and so on.
