As season five draws to a close in Overwatch, it appears as if developers Blizzard will be bringing in a number of changes for Competitive season six.
Season five is set to finish at 5pm PT on August 28th, and for the following season, the team behind the game are looking to make some drastic alterations to how they will actually work. For starters, they won’t last as long as before. In fact, it will be shorter by a third, lasting for only two months as opposed to the usual three months. This is with the intention that players will feel like it is less of a grind, according to game director Jeff Kaplan. Points that are earned are also being adjusted, which will accommodate the length of the new season.
There will also be a number of issues addressed that players have come across, ones that surround skill decay and placement. Blizzard has lowered skill placements so players have more of a feeling of progression, meaning that players will now start out at the appropriate levels.
Overwatch Competitive season six will get underway on August 31st at 5pm PST, which ushers in a faster, shorter experience for those who dabble in the competitive side of the popular shooter.
