Blizzard Announces The End Of Era 7 For Diablo III
For some games, to keep things fresh, and to keep players playing, developers will release some seasonal content, something that’ll only last for a short time, but will give players something new to do. But as in all things, that season must end. For Diablo III there isn’t just seasonal content, but timed leaderboard sessions called Eras. Season 10 of the game is about to end, and as Blizzard noted on Battle.net, Era 7 will be following close behind it. Thus, they’re giving details on what to expect.
This reveal comes from Diablo III Community Manager Nevalistis, who notes the end of this era will arrive on June 27th. This will actually go hand-in-hand with the arrival of Patch 2.6.0. June 27th is also the day of the long-awaited Rise of the Necromancer update, which gives players the chance to be the Necromancer class for the first time since Diablo II.
Back to the Eras, these pertain to non-seasonal leaderboards, and on Tuesday this particular leaderboard will reset.
“At the end of an Era, all current non-Seasonal leaderboard standings are wiped and players start posting times to the new Era leaderboards,” Nevalistis notes.
Now, like in other leaderboard seasons, you can look back at past rankings to see how you did, so you’ll never forget how the season or era went for you. Now, soon after the Rise of the Necromancer update is put into Diablo III, Era 8 will begin, while Season 11 of the game will start on July 27th.
If you’re fearing losing items that you have gotten in the season or era, don’t worry, most things do roll over, and Blizzard has even detailed everything in regards to it here. So read up on it so that you don’t wonder why a certain thing has happened. Then, prepare for the arrival of Era 8 and Season 11!
