PearAbyss has announced today that it will be revising the score for Black Desert Online, bringing orchestrated music in for the original MIDI soundtrack. Re-arranged by Hui Man Ryu, the original composer of BDO’s music, he is considered to be one of the most renowned music directors in the Korean video game industry, also known for his work on EZ2DJ and DJMAX.
As it stands, there’s 40 out of 240 themes that are being remastered to create “more lavish and warmer sounds” in comparison to the original score. The objective of this is to hopefully help players connect with the expansive world of Black Desert Online, inhabited by fascinating characters and captivating storylines. This connection will hopefully create more atmosphere and emotion, especially when players are experiencing certain cutscenes. PearlAbyss is currently hard at work on bringing a system where players can listen to the score in the game, if they prefer the pre-mastered versions instead.
“We are doing our best to provide the highest possible music quality to our players and to complement the beautiful world PearlAbyss has created,” Ryu commented, “From the small town inn to the never-ending ocean, we hope to bring the world of Black Desert straight to your ears. I hope our adventurers enjoy this musical journey as much as I do.”
