Bioware Still Teasing The Return Of Mass Effect
When the Mass Effect trilogy came to the world, it showed a very western RPG that could be made in a brand new universe that was fun, enticing, deep, and more. With the exception of the controversial ending to the trilogy, gamers loved every single thing about it (except the elevator rides in the first one, but they fixed that!), and then Andromeda arrived and changed everything. The game was unpolished, unfinished, and clearly rushed, and it turned many fans sour.
Now, there is no clear indication of when the series will return, and even if it did, would it return to the glory that the original three games have? No one knows except for Bioware, who continues to tease and promise that things are indeed happening on that front. And now, while talking to Polygon about their upcoming game Anthem, Casey Hudson and Mike Darrah teased even more about the series returning.
“We’re definitely not done with Mass Effect,” Darrah told the site. “There’s a lot of stories to be told. We could pull on the threads we put down with Andromeda; we could pull on threads fromMass Effect 3. There’s a lot of interesting space to be explored.”
“In my mind, it’s very much alive,” Hudson added. “I’m thinking all the time about things that I think will be great. It’s just a matter of getting back to it as soon as we can.”
By “getting back to it”, they’re obviously referring to the arrival of Anthem, which is only a month away, and Bioware has been working really hard to try and make that game not only real, but really good. There was also a tease back at The Game Awards about the next Dragon Age title. And who knows what else Bioware has in store for gamers before the return of the Mass Effect universe comes.
