Bioware Is Working Very Hard On Anthem, Trying To Polish It Up
At one time, Bioware was considered one of the peak game developers in the world. For between their Mass Effect Trilogy and Dragon Age saga, among others, they showed they could create quality games on numerous levels. However, they’ve hit some stumbling blocks afterwards that brought them down in some people’s eyes. The ending of Mass Effect 3 was controversial, and then the next Mass Effect game, Andromeda, wasn’t even close to the quality of those games. And now, their next game, Anthem, has already been delayed from 2018 to 2019.
The delay hit a lot of people hard, because they want to see Bioware bounce back, but this delay hurts that in a way. However, on a Reddit thread, Bioware developer Brenon Holmes revealed that the team are hard at work on a demo that is going to be shown (more than likely) at the upcoming EA Play event just before E3:
“Everyone is currently working pretty hard. We’re doing a lot of iterating and polish on the content that will be the focus for EA Play/E3.”
That’s good to know that we’re going to get another demo for Anthem during the week. The first one premiere last year, and it was rather impressive. It showed the massive scale of the world, the suits that players can be in, the co-op gameplay, and more.
So, that begs the question, what are they showing in the upcoming demo? Well, Holmes wouldn’t dig into details, but he did note that they’re trying to make sure they focus on certain things.
“It’s more of a question of focus,” he said. “The things we’re showing have to get done at some point, but if we weren’t showing it at E3, we’d likely be doing it in a slightly different order.”
E3 2018, with the EA Play event, arrives on the week of June 10th.
