Bethesda “Isn’t Sure” What Games They’ll Port To Nintendo Switch Next

Nintendo worked very hard before the launch of the Nintendo Switch to try and get as many 3rd party companies on board as possible, including ones that hadn’t supported, or fully supported, their consoles or handhelds in the past. This included Bethesda, who not only took to the Switch, they’ve been bringing over many titles to the console since its launch last year. So far, they’ve brought four, and the fifth one will arrive this year via Elder Scrolls Legends. But…what is next?

During a Q&A, Bethesda’s Pete Hines was asked about this, and he gave some very honest answers:

“Truthfully, I don’t know. We have talked about that and we have thought about that, but as you just saw from Bethesda Game Studios, they are super busy. id’s got four different properties rolling right now – Quake Champions is still in Early Access, but Rage 2 and the work that they’re doing for that, and then you know, a ton of folks working on Doom Eternal.”

DOOM Bethesda

“If we had stuff that we thought was a good fit for Switch and we thought there was demand, we’d do it, but we’re also looking for future things and what we’re doing going forward that might be a good fit. I think it’s an awesome console. I brought mine with me. So it’s something we want to obviously continue to support with whatever we’re making that will run and run well on the Switch.”

Knowing they’re going to try and keep supporting Nintendo and the Switch is going to be a good tiding for gamers. But the question remains, what will come? Doom Eternal is a possibility, as their other Doom title was the first game of theirs to be put on the Switch. Elder Scrolls and Starfield could also make the jump too, it just depends on what the team wants to do.
