Bethesda held their E3 showcase tonight and announced quite a few projects and gave some details on others. While not all of us were lucky enough to be present at the show, Bethesda also streamed the event on their Twitch channel. For horror fans, a big reveal was the announcement and release date for the Evil Within 2.
The Evil Within is a third-person survival horror game from Bethesda and Tango Gameworks. The sequel delves into the story of its predecessor and Sebastian’s young daughter with plenty of spooky imagery.
The game’s trailer is full of the horror that fans have come to expect from the Evil Within and and a little extra teaser for the plot. Sebastian is haunted by thoughts of his daughter and is trapped in his own mind and the insanity of the real world. The images shown in the trailer, coupled with with the terrifying music, really set the tone for the developers want this game to be.
The original Evil within was well-liked if the Steam reviews are to be believed and if the second game in the series sticks to the same psychological horror formula, the successor will surely be received quite well by fans and critics. In the original Evil Within, the most criticized points were the story and characters. By this nearly three minute long trailer, we can see that players will certainly be getting more on-screen development of Sebastian as a character as he deals with his nightmarish surroundings.
