Beat Saber and its success attracted a lot of attention
Beat Games are an indie studio that made the hit rhythm game, Beat Saber. You’re probably familiar with it. You get two sticks that are used to slice up the beat which comes in the form of cubes. Quite an exhilarating and fun little VR game that is loved by rhythm and VR fans alike. What made it so successful? Well, it combined the well-known formula of rhythm music games with virtual technology. It sounds simple, but rarely anyone manages to make these kinds of combinations fun and enjoyable in VR.
Facebook noticed the game’s success
Facebook obviously noticed how successful Beat Saber was. Then they decided to buy the game along with the studio that made it. Privacy breaching when you own one of the largest social platforms on the Earth is not something that goes well for you if you get caught.
