Battlefront II Could Get More Singleplayer Content
Star Wars Battlefront II hasn’t had an easy time since its launch. The controversies surrounding the microtransaction system and the progression system of the game put it on the defensive right from the start. EA had to shut down the microtransaction system because of the fan backlash, as well as make certain in-game adjustments just to please them. All that being said, they are going through with their plans to supply the game with new content, but they’re also open-minded on what to do with content in the next year.
One of the biggest complaints about the original (rebooted) Battlefront was the focus on multiplayer. If you wanted to have just a solo adventure, there was basically nothing you could do, as it had no story mode. With Battlefront II, one was added, but it’s not the deepest thing. And once you’re done with that, there’s only really multiplayer left. One player asked co-developer Criterion if this could change in the future. They replied thusly on Twitter:
We’ve already adjusted some of our plans for future DLC at Criterion because of the demand we’ve been hearing for more offline content since the game shipped. We’re working on what that content might be, but we’re certainly not deaf to what players are asking for more of. https://t.co/Ugib1hCvN3

That’s very good to know, and it’s pleasing to hear that they’re listening to fans on all levels. It’ll be curious to see what they put into the game. They’ve already brought DLC that connects the game to the recent movie, The Last Jedi, maybe some new stories from that movie? Or the previous movies? Or, maybe they’ll pull a Rogue One and show something from the upcoming Solo movie?
Oh, or maybe they’ll do something very original, something exclusive to Battlefront II? It’s hard to say, but we eagerly await more news on it.
