Battlefield V Won’t Have Loot Boxes
Let’s be honest here, video game developers aren’t really thinking straight these days, especially when it comes to microtransactions. It seems like everyone knows that players don’t like loot boxes, and everyone still puts them in their game. Now, when you know that Battlefield V is going to have premium currency, are you afraid that the title will also have loot boxes? Well, fortunately for us, there will be no such thing. The premium currency will exist and so will the currency that you earn through gameplay, but they will both be used to buy only cosmetic things, according to Kotaku.
You can read the Kotaku article about the premium currency on their site, while we will focus on other things, like loot boxes not being in an EA title. As we all remember fondly, when EA added loot boxes to Battlefront II, the players weren’t exactly happy. Well, they were furious to be exact, as that kind of made the game seem like a pay2win title, which can’t be associated with a triple-A shooter that is as expensive as Star Wars Battlefront II was. After a lot of negative feedback, they were removed from the game, and it is obvious that EA is being cautious with Battlefield V, as the premium currency that is in the game can only be used to purchase cosmetic items.
In the end, we are just happy to know that an upcoming triple-A shooter won’t have loot boxes in it.
This will probably make me buy BF V over BlackOps 4.
