Battle for Azeroth Changing Threat Generation For Tanks
Well, we have some bad news for you tank players. Battle for Azeroth, World of Warcraft’s next expansion, is bringing all kinds of changes to the game, and we just found out that it is also changing the amount of threat that tanks generate. You see, in Legion, tanks generated a lot of threat because of how the system worked. A tank role generates threat 10 times more than a DPS, which is normal, as the job of the tank is to take damage, not deal damage. Well, the Battle for Azeroth is changing the threat generation. If you’re playing a tank, you will only generate threat 4 times more than a DPS, so your job will be much harder than it was in Legion.
Ok, so the job of the tank in a dungeon or a raid is to soak up damage and make all the monsters look at only him. See, you need to make everything put their sights on you while your DPS chunks away at their health pools. Well, this will be much harder once Battle for Azeroth comes. We aren’t tank experts, so we don’t know if this change is going to affect the game too much, but we will have to wait and see.
Are you a tank main in WoW? If you are, what do you think, will the changes that are coming with Battle for Azeroth going to be really impactful, or will there be no notable difference?
