Bulkhead Interactive and Square Enix Collective have collectively announced Battalion 1944 will be heading to Early Access on Thursday, February 1st.
The UK-based studio Bulkhead Interactive, who have previously developed the likes of The Turing Test, has been working hard to create an experience similar to FPS games back in the 1990s. Since then, the genre has naturally taken a bit of a change in direction, though Bulkhead decided to launch a Kickstarter campaign in order to bring together a community of players that are looking to relive the glory days of multiplayer arenas.
Joe Brammer, the Studio Lead at Bulkhead Interactive, commented: “It feels good to get Battalion 1944 into the hands of gamers after working on it so hard. We’ve been testing the game behind closed doors with our Kickstarter backers. It’s now time for us to extend our testing to Early Access to help what I believe can one of the best competitive FPS games ever.”
Before this Early Access, Bulkhead Interactive will be running an exclusive beta for Battalion 1944, which will be getting underway on Friday, January 19th, running through to Sunday, January 21st. So if you’re looking to test this game out bright and early, you only have just over a week to wait.
