Battalion 1944 Getting Its First Open Tournament

Do you know how to revive a dead game? You attract attention, and in a way that will also attract players. This, of course, is not an easy thing to do, but the developers of Battalion 1944 aren’t giving up on their half-dead WWII shooter. The worst thing about this game is that it isn’t half bad, but it severely lacks players, and that is something that can kill a title pretty quickly. So, in order to try and rekindle their extinguished fire, the developers decided to announce the game’s very first open tournament, and it is going to have a prize pool of $50, 000, which is quite a lot of money.

Multiplayer shooters set in WWII aren’t that popular, but they were once upon a time (for example when Call of Duty 2 launched), so that is probably why Battalion 1944 didn’t work out as well as the developers hoped it would. But, people are attracted by money, and with a prize pool of $50, 000, they are definitely going to get at least some form of attention, which may bring in new players.

There will be 16 teams, and you can try to get into the tournament through the open qualifiers which are happening in July and August. Since Battalion 1944 doesn’t have a lot of players, you shouldn’t have much trouble getting into the tournament.
