Baldur’s Gate 3 Development Slowing Down Due To COVID-19 Pandemic
Baldur’s Gate 3 is still aiming for an Early Access release in 2020 but the game’s development has slowed down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Larian are a master of their craft. The Divinity games are a testimony to that. That’s why all of us are very excited to play Baldur’s Gate 3 this year. I mean, if we’re even going to get it this year? We will, Larian confirmed that in this interview, but the development process has slowed down. It’s easy to understand why. When everyone’s working from home, communication gets a bit hard. Pointing people in the right direction and discussing things is much easier in person.
That’s the only reason why Baldur’s Gate 3 and its development are slowing down. Yet, we are still getting a playable version of the game in 2020. So, we should expect the game to at least launch as an Early Access title. Hopefully, Larian gets us some more precise information regarding the Early Access launch. It’s almost the middle of 2020 and there’s no precise launch date. Which is sad as a grand RPG would be a great thing for these times of isolation.
Well, there are other outstanding RPGs from these guys that you can pick up. The Divinity series is available on HRK Game for great prices. I recommend the Divinity: Original Sin 2 especially as that’s one of the most enjoyable RPGs that came out in this decade.
Like many other companies, Larian Studios had to implement a work-from-home arrangement to comply with social distancing measures, but initially things went well. However, as time passed, challenges arose that affected the game’s progress.
Baldur’s Gate 3’s current Early Access offers a gripping story and classic RPG elements, but leaves you wanting more. While choices influence your journey, the conclusion feels abrupt. It’s a promising start, waiting for the full story to unfold.
Initially, everything went swimmingly for Larian Studios, which, like many other enterprises, had to institute a work-from-home arrangement to comply with social distancing requirements. But as time went on, obstacles emerged that halted the game’s advancement.
