Turtle Rock Studios said that Back 4 Blood isn’t going to have an offline mode during its launch but it may arrive sometime later.
Contrary to popular belief, games like Left 4 Dead and the sort are fun to play offline with bots. Especially if you’re drunk, sitting alone in a dark room, and you want to poop your pants. But you shouldn’t do that because I tried it and it’s too spooky. But also awesome as hell.
Anyhow, the point is, there’s no reason why these kinds of games don’t have offline modes. What’s the deal with having an online internet connection if I’m playing by myself? Since most people share that opinion, Turtle Rock Studios got in trouble with some of their latest Tweet replies.
The spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead 2 can’t be played offline. You need a constant internet connection to play the game alone or with friends. Since most games with this requirement have tons of server issues, lag, disconnects, and such issues at launch, the fans are angry.
Just how much this information’s going to affect the game remains to be seen. Is this a deal-breaker for you too? Turtle Rock Studios said they’d love to add this feature in the future but don’t expect it at launch.
