Seems like Mount and Blade: Bannerlord is getting the autoblock feature after all to make the combat a bit less frantic.
Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord improved the foundations that the previous game set. Bigger, better, more challenging. It’s an insanely ambitious and enjoyable open-world title that many like despite its massive sea of bugs and glitches. However, one of the changes hasn’t been well received by the masses it seems. Bannerlord lacks the autoblock feature. That makes the combat much more ferocious, unforgiving, and blood-pumping. But, seems like that isn’t what everyone wants.
As PC Gamer explains quite nicely in their post, players with disabilities would benefit greatly from the autoblock feature. How does it work? Well, if you don’t do anything while an attack is heading towards you your character will automatically try to block it. Without this feature, melee combat is quite tricky to understand, let alone master. This is a fine change as long as players get to enable and disable it themselves. Some will welcome this feature, others that like their sword duels to be as fierce as possible won’t.
