Author of the Witcher novels talked a bit about the Netflix Witcher series, how involved he was in the project, and more.
Andrzej Sapkowski is the author of The Witcher stories and novels and he was also involved in the making of Netflix Witcher series. He is a man that is fond of money. We all saw that when he clashed with CD Projekt over deals that he already agreed on. If you aren’t familiar with this, he accepted a cash-up-front deal instead of a profit-sharing deal. Later on he decided that he actually wanted a profit-sharing deal. Even though they went back and forth over this particular thing, they ended up settling for a deal that was apparently good for both parties.
In the case of Netflix’s Witcher, Andrzej was pretty open about his involvement with the project. For starters, he did not work all that much. Since he doesn’t like working too hard or too long. His control over the series was also almost nonexistent. He gave advice when necessary and when someone asked for it. Andrzej doesn’t have any expectations for the future of Netflix’s Witcher since he likes to keep his expectations low. He also stated that his deal with Netflix went pleasantly.
