Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Has New Mythical Creature To Fight
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey may be the last Assassin’s Creed you get for a while, or at least that’s what the team tells us. But take heart in knowing that the team are making sure that the game has plenty of after-launch content for you to be entertained by. They’ve already started to dole it out via the “Lost Tales of Greece” updates, but there’s also a thing called “mythical creatures” that you’ll be allowed to fight. Ubisoft has just brought the next one in.
For as revealed on Twitter:
Steropes is now available in #AssassinsCreedOdyssey
Witnesses swore they’d seen him, the Lightning Bringer, on a rampage around the Greek world.
For those who don’t know Greek Mythology, the creature known as Steropes was not only a Cyclops, but one of several brothers who were charged with making Zeus’ lightning bolt up on Mount Olympus. They were powerful craftsmen, and very strong fighters obviously.
Ubisoft warns that this won’t be an easy challenge, so you better be ready:
“A new Mythical Creature, Steropes the Cyclops, will be waiting for you in his lair on November 13. A new quest named The Lightning Bringer will appear in your quest log and will take you to the one-eyed monster. Defeating the Cyclops will be a high-level challenge, and should you manage to succeed you will be rewarded with a Legendary Bow. There will be no time limit, so prepare properly and take it down at your own pace!”
There are many, MANY, mythical creatures in Greek Mythology, and it goes to reason that you’re going to be facing many of them before the content in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey comes to an end. If they’re going as deep as Steropes, then you know they’ll diving mightily into the lore. So who knows who might come next.
