Ashe, the new Overwatch hero who is also the leader of the Deadlock Gang and former friend of McCree, is now available on the PTR.
The “Reunion” animated short that they released to announce Ashe was absolutely amazing. Well, all animated shorts that Blizzard releases are absolutely astonishing, so that’s nothing new. But, this new hero called Ashe is now available on the PTR. That means you can go and play her right now to see how she plays. She’s a character with surprising mobility, quite a lot of damage, and she can take you on whether you’re far away or close to her.
Her primary weapon allows her to shoot fairly quickly, and she can aim down her sights to get more powerful shots but it makes her shoot slower. She has a sidearm which can launch herself or others away from her, dynamite which can be thrown and shot to explore right away. But, the most charming and dangerous of her abilities is her robot butler that can toss aside enemies like they were plushie toys. Blizzard is really improving their hero design as Ashe looks immensely fun to play. We still haven’t tried her on the PTR, but from what we saw, she’s quite a formidable foe.
The whole situation between Ashe and McCree looks intriguing, and we wonder. What were they before? The animated short hints at some sort of relationship between them, but it isn’t sure if it’s romantic or just friendly. We wonder if one day Blizzard is going to create an Overwatch animated movie where everything gets explained in detail. They can even make a franchise. What could possibly go wrong with that?
What are your thoughts on Ashe? Does she seem like a type of character that you would play? In all honesty, her robot butler should become a standalone character. He’s a robot with a mustache, it doesn’t get better than that.
