ARPG Warhammer: Chaosbane Got A Release Date
We have quite a few Warhammer games out there in many genres, and the ARPG one can welcome Warhammer: Chaosbane.
While there are many great ARPGs out there like Path of Exile, Grim Dawn, the upcoming Torchlight Frontiers, Diablo 3, Lost Ark, and so on. Each of them has something that they offer that the other games don’t. Warhammer: Chaosbane doesn’t seem to have anything like that, at least not from the trailers we saw or the features that were mentioned.
It looks like a really generic action RPG with painfully stiff animations, an uninspired color pallet, average animations, and so on. The only thing it truly has going for it is the Warhammer setting since this is set in the Old World. Those of you that pre-order the game bet to play its betas so that might help you understand the game more, and see if it’s good. One of which is starting in March, and the other one in April.
This is a $50 title, even though it doesn’t look close to it. Maybe we’re being too judgemental, but none of the game’s trailers managed to sell this game to us. If you want an action RPG set in a dark world with dark characters, guts, gore, and mature themes, you have titles like Grim Dawn and Path of Exile for that. Basically, even the setting like this doesn’t help much. Hardcore Warhammer fans will try this regardless, as they are always looking for their next Warhammer fix.
Warhammer: Chaosbane is coming on June 4th. Let’s wait until then and try it once it releases. Maybe the unique bloodlust mechanic ends up being something spectacular that makes all the other generic stuff in the game completely irrelevant.
