The alpha footage of the System Shock Remake isn’t action-packed, but it does show a few different environments. So, did you get an invite to Adventure Alpha?
So, the reboot of this classic is something that we are eagerly waiting to see more of. Now, we got to see some more footage. You can check out the 1st look here. We don’t get to see much actual gameplay of any sorts. It was more like a theme park ride where you get to see all the cool new places. But, it’s something, and the graphics of the System Shock Remake look quite haunting. Surreal, with vibrant colors to mellow your immersion while you’re looking for audio logs or picking up items.
In an article by Polygon, we found out that the game’s adventure alpha is invite only. But, if you pledged $750 or more than that during the game’s Kickstarter campaign, you get to play the alpha too. The Citadel Station is the level that you’re going to explore. Judging from the trailer, the different areas look strange in their own way. We liked what we saw.
But, this alpha shows the original textures and not the final art of the game. So, what does this mean? Well, the devs said this: “These are the original levels using the original textures from the game. The purpose of this alpha is to rebuild all the levels 1:1 and be able to complete all the objectives necessary to finish the game.”. We think this means these are the original textures but in the new graphics engine. But, the finished product will have something even better. Hopefully, we don’t wait for too long to see the final art of the System Shock Remake.
